SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the ChamberWest Chamber of Commerce hosted U.S. Senator John Curtis (R-UT) for a roundtable discussion in Salt Lake City, Utah with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
We applaud Senator Curtis for working to ensure that the constituents of Utah continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.
“Thanks to the leadership and support of Senator Curtis, the new tax law is already helping Utah small businesses invest, grow, and hire,” said Jennings Imel, Vice President at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “Today’s discussion with Senator Curtis, ChamberWest, and west valley small businesses showcased the importance of the bill’s permanent, pro-growth tax policies, while also highlighting childcare and other provisions that will help improve the lives of everyday Utahns.”
“In Utah, we believe strong families are the foundation of a strong future,” said Senator Curtis. “That’s why I fought to update decades-old childcare tax policies because parents shouldn’t have to choose between work and caring for their kids. These reforms are helping millions of families across the country afford care, keep jobs, and build better lives. In Washington, I’ll keep working to ensure every child and every family has the support they need to thrive.”
“ChamberWest is pleased to partner with the U.S. Chamber to host an important roundtable discussion with U.S. Senator John Curtis,” said Barbara Riddle, President and CEO of the ChamberWest Chamber of Commerce. “As Congress considers significant federal tax policy, it’s essential for our business community to understand how potential changes could influence investment, growth, and long-term planning. Clear and predictable tax policy is vital for businesses of every size. Just as important, this forum gave our business leaders a direct opportunity to share their perspectives, priorities, and on-the-ground experience with Senator Curtis. Their insights will help inform federal decision-making and ensure that the needs of employers on the west side are part of the national conversation. This was a valuable moment for our members to engage directly, be heard, and help shape tax policy that supports a strong and competitive regional economy."
The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 75 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
